2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing Air Filter: Specs & Service

The housing protects the filter that cleans air entering the 6.2-liter V8. During service, the filter and housing are inspected for dust, debris, and proper fitment. The cabin filter is separate and is typically positioned behind the glove box as part of the passenger-compartment air path.

• Engine filter: air intake system in the engine bay
• Cabin filter: typically behind the glove box
• Service includes inspection of the intake path and filter housing

These filters perform different jobs and should be checked separately. A restricted engine filter can reduce airflow to the engine, while a loaded cabin filter can affect HVAC airflow and cabin air quality. Herb Chambers Cadillac of Warwick can inspect both during one visit.

• Engine filter supports clean airflow for combustion
• Cabin filter supports the HVAC and passenger-air path
• Both filters are checked against the vehicle’s requirements

A restricted engine filter can reduce airflow to the 668-horsepower V8 and may make throttle response feel less immediate. A dirty cabin filter can limit airflow through the vents or contribute to an odor inside the sedan. A visual inspection can confirm whether the filter looks gray or packed with debris.

• Engine symptoms: lower fuel economy or duller response
• Cabin symptoms: weak airflow or a musty smell
• Visual clue: filter media covered with dust or debris

Professional service adds an inspection of the engine air-filter housing, intake path, and cabin-filter fitment. The correct filter specification also matters for the V8 intake system. If you prefer one visit for both filters, you can schedule service with Herb Chambers Cadillac of Warwick.

• Engine filter replacement may be straightforward for experienced owners
• Cabin filter access can involve glove-box-area trim
• Dealer service checks both filters and the related intake path

The visit is designed to address both filtration systems together. Technicians inspect the intake path and verify that replacement filters match the vehicle’s specifications. This approach helps identify restricted airflow before it affects engine response or cabin ventilation.

• Engine air-filter and housing inspection
• Cabin air-filter and intake-path inspection
• Replacement with filters matched to the vehicle specification

The CT5-V Blackwing uses a V8 engine with 659 lb-ft of torque and requires premium unleaded fuel. A restricted engine filter can reduce airflow and contribute to lower fuel economy or a duller throttle response. Filter service supports the intake system without changing the vehicle’s required fuel type.

• 6.2-liter V8 engine
• 668 horsepower and 659 lb-ft of torque
• Premium unleaded fuel required

The cabin filter is part of the HVAC intake path and affects the air delivered to occupants. Herb Chambers Cadillac of Warwick can inspect the filter and intake path during an air filter visit. A combined inspection also lets the engine filter be checked at the same time.

• Weak airflow from the HVAC vents
• Dusty or musty odor inside the cabin
• Visible gray coloring or debris on the filter

The dealership’s service team can inspect both filters and replace them with parts matched to the 6.2-liter V8 and cabin air system. Use the online service scheduler or call the dealership to arrange a visit. Service specials are also available through the service specials page.

Warwick driving conditions can expose filters to road dust and seasonal airborne material. A restricted engine filter may contribute to lower fuel economy or a duller throttle response. A loaded cabin filter may contribute to weak vent airflow or a dusty and musty smell. The service team can check both filters in one visit and replace them with the correct parts for the vehicle’s specifications.

The cabin air filter is inspected separately, along with the passenger-compartment intake path. When replacement is needed, the correct cabin filter is installed and the filter area is checked for accumulated debris. This two-filter approach addresses both engine airflow and HVAC airflow during the same visit.

For the CT5-V Blackwing’s 668-horsepower V8, maintaining clean intake airflow supports normal drivability. To arrange service, schedule service online or call (401) 681-3485 at Herb Chambers Cadillac of Warwick.

Service includes examining the engine filter and its housing, replacing the engine filter with a part matched to the engine specification, and checking the cabin filter and intake path. Common signs that prompt an inspection include reduced fuel economy, duller throttle response, weak HVAC airflow, and dusty or musty vent odors. Filter appearance can also provide a useful clue when the housing is opened.
